VIRTUAL REALITY TRAVERSE: A NOVEL WAY TO TEACH TRAVERSE SURVEYING

Abstract. With the advancement of technology, lowered cost in hardware and widely available development tools, more educators across different disciplines have used virtual reality as a mean to enhance their teaching. The hit pandemic has also speeded up adoption education where face-to-face classes practicals are suspended/cancelled. Virtual Reality tool facilitate teaching learning created new way for learners experience materials instead receiving information passively through books videos. Traverse survey is one main topics surveying, it method control establishing series points that linked together by straight lines form framework. Traversing involves setting total station prism targets at along traverse line do observations. Measurements angles distances taken calculation points’ coordinates using trigonometry. This paper illustrates freely tools develop program doing survey, an assignment fieldwork students learn surveying home anywhere with computer.
